Трохи більше року тому в румунській Тулчі було дано старт транснаціональному проєкту «Покращення доступу до освіти у прикордонних регіонах як ключ до соціалізації та інтеграції в ЄС» Learn Across Borders, ROUA00342.
Його головна мета допомогти дітям, молоді та дорослим по обидва боки українсько-румунського кордону опановувати українську й румунську мови, долати комунікаційні бар’єри та швидше інтегруватися в нове освітнє, соціальне й професійне середовище.
У квітні — травні 2026 року в Тульчі та Одесі презентували інноваційну методику викладання української мови для румуномовної аудиторії і етнічних українців за кордоном, та відповідно румунської мови для україномовної етнічної меншини румун в Україні. Вона поєднала сучасні освітні підходи, елементи ейдетики та мнемотехніки, а також практичні методи швидкого засвоєння матеріалу.
Після розроблення програм, навчальних посібників і цифрових матеріалів проєкт перейшов до найважливішого етапу — безпосереднього навчання.
В Одесі розпочалися заняття з румунської мови для учасників, які зареєструвалися на пілотні курси. Навчальну програму поділено на три вікові категорії:
• діти від 5 до 17 років;
• молодь від 18 до 35 років;
• дорослі від 36 років.
Для кожної групи сформовано окремий розклад. Час занять визначали самі слухачі шляхом голосування, щоб навчання було зручним і не заважало роботі, навчанню чи сімейним обов’язкам. Заняття відбуваються двічі на тиждень.
Організатори передбачили можливість долучитися до програми й після початку курсу. Учасники отримують доступ до відеозаписів уроків, тому пропущене заняття можна переглянути, опрацювати матеріал і наздогнати групу. На початку кожної нової зустрічі викладачі також коротко повторюють уже вивчене.
Навчання охоплює не тільки м. Одесу, але й Одеську область, зокрема Бессарабію.
Курси працюють у гібридному форматі. Частина слухачів навчається безпосередньо в одеському освітньому центрі, інші приєднуються онлайн.
Географія учасників уже значно ширша за межі одного міста. До навчання долучилися жителі Ізмаїла та інших громад Одеської Бессарабії.
Такий формат дозволяє об’єднати в одній навчальній групі людей різного віку, досвіду та місця проживання. Водночас заняття залишаються живими й динамічними: викладачі працюють з усією групою та приділяють увагу кожному учасникові.
До викладання залучені фахівці, відібрані на волонтерських засадах, зокрема носії румунської мови. З дитячою групою працює діючий викладач Південноукраїнського національного педагогічного університету імені К. Д. Ушинського.
Особливо щиро про заняття розповідають наймолодші учасники курсів.
«Мені подобається вивчати румунську мову. На уроках весело й цікаво, а вчитель усе добре пояснює. Я вже знаю багато нових слів!» — ділиться Михайло.
Його одногрупниця Владислава також із задоволенням відвідує заняття: «Ми граємо, спілкуємося та разом вчимо нові румунські слова. У нас дуже дружна група!»
Простір, створений спеціально для навчання.
Для реалізації освітньої програми в центрі Одеси облаштували офіс і сучасний навчальний клас із необхідним обладнанням для очної та дистанційної роботи.
Організатори подбали не лише про навчальний процес, а й про комфортну, доброзичливу атмосферу: під час зустрічей передбачені перерви, чай, кава та можливість неформального спілкування між учасниками.
Саме зараз Learn Across Borders переходить від презентацій і розроблення методик до головного практичного результату — реальних людей, які починають розуміти мову сусідньої країни та вільніше спілкуватися одне з одним.
Навчання вже триває, однак набір залишається відкритим. Долучитися до курсів можуть усі охочі — як очно в Одесі, так і онлайн.

From Methodology to Hands-On Learning: The Final Stage of Learn Across Borders Has Begun in Odesa.
A little over a year ago, the transnational project “Improving access to education in border regions as an important factor of socialisation and integration into the EU” (Learn Across Borders, ROUA00342) was launched in Tulcea, Romania.
Its main goal is to help children, youth, and adults on both sides of the Ukrainian-Romanian border learn the Ukrainian and Romanian languages, overcome communication barriers, and integrate more quickly into new educational, social, and professional environments.
In April-May 2026, an innovative methodology for teaching the Ukrainian language to Romanian-speaking audiences and ethnic Ukrainians abroad—and, conversely, the Romanian language to the Ukrainian-speaking ethnic Romanian minority in Ukraine—was presented in Tulcea and Odesa. It combined modern educational approaches, elements of eidetic imagery and mnemonics, as well as practical methods for rapid mastery of the material.
After developing the curricula, textbooks, and digital materials, the project moved on to its most important stage—direct instruction.
In Odesa, Romanian language classes began for participants who had registered for the pilot courses.
• children ages 5 to 17;
• youth aged 18 to 35;
• adults aged 36 and older.
A separate schedule has been created for each group. The students themselves determined the class times through a vote to ensure that the program was convenient and did not interfere with their work, studies, or family responsibilities. Classes are held twice a week.
The organizers have made it possible to join the program even after the course has begun. Participants have access to video recordings of the lessons, so they can watch a missed session, review the material, and catch up with the group. At the beginning of each new session, instructors also briefly review what has already been covered.
The program covers not only Odesa but also the Odesa Region, including Bessarabia.
The classes are conducted in a hybrid format. Some students attend in person at the Odesa educational center, while others join online.
The geographic reach of the participants has already expanded well beyond the city limits. Residents of Izmail and other communities in Odesa Bessarabia have joined the program.
This format allows people of different ages, backgrounds, and places of residence to be brought together in a single learning group. In addition, the classes remain lively and dynamic: instructors work with the entire group while giving individual attention to each participant.
The teaching staff consists of specialists selected on a volunteer basis, including native speakers of Romanian. A current instructor at the K.D. Ushynsky South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University works with the children’s group.
The youngest participants speak especially warmly about the classes.
“I like learning Romanian. The lessons are fun and interesting, and the teacher explains everything well. I already know a lot of new words!” shares Mykhailo.
His classmate Vladyslava also enjoys attending the classes: “We play, chat, and learn new Romanian words together. We have a very close-knit group!”
A space created specifically for learning
To implement the educational program, an office and a modern classroom equipped with everything needed for in-person and remote learning were set up in the heart of Odesa.
The organizers have ensured not only a smooth learning process but also a comfortable, friendly atmosphere: sessions include breaks, tea, coffee, and opportunities for informal interaction among participants.
Right now, Learn Across Borders is moving from presentations and the development of teaching methods to its main practical outcome—real people who are beginning to understand the language of a neighboring country and communicate more freely with one another.
The program is already underway, but enrollment remains open. Anyone interested can join the courses—either in person in Odesa or online.
